Since 1996 we have kept
Zagreb's lifts running.

Maintenance, modernisation and restoration. Emergency service every day of the year, on site within 60 minutes - as the Croatian lift safety regulation (NN 5/2019) requires, not as it suits us.

Changing your current maintenance provider is done in one day - we take over the paperwork.

01 - What nobody else in Zagreb does

A lift from 1928
is not replaced.
It is brought back to life.

In Donji grad, Zagreb's Lower Town, there are still lifts running that are older than most of the people who use them. Stigler, Freissler, Wertheim - walnut car, wrought-iron shaft, brass handles. A standard modernisation throws all of that in a skip and fits white sheet metal.

Before After

Everything that carries safety - new.
Everything that carries character - restored.

We replace the machine, the ropes, the brake, the controller and the door protection with modern, certified equipment. The car, the doors, the fittings and the shaft we restore and put back. The result is a lift that looks like 1928 and rides like 2026.

01

Survey of the condition as found

We photograph and measure every element before dismantling, with a report that also goes to the heritage conservation office.

02

Joinery and metalwork restoration

Wood, brass and wrought iron are restored. Missing parts are made to match the original.

03

Modern equipment behind the original face

New machine and controller, door protection, two-way emergency communication and evacuation on power failure.

02 - Services

Four things we do,
and we do them all the way.

We do not sell a lift and then disappear. We take responsibility for the installation the moment we sign the contract - and we stay with it for years.

Maintenance and service 24/7

Monthly inspections under the Regulation, emergency service every day of the year and arrival on site within 60 minutes of the call.

  • Keeping the lift maintenance logbook
  • Preparation for and attendance at the annual inspection
  • Clearing the defects listed in the inspection report
  • Rescue of trapped passengers

Modernisation and overhaul

New electronics, machine, doors and car in the existing shaft. A lift brought into line with the standards in force - no demolition and no months of a closed entrance.

  • Replacement of the controller and the machine
  • New car and landing doors
  • Compliance with the regulations (EN 81-20/50)
  • Phase by phase, with minimal downtime

Restoration of historic lifts

Stigler, Freissler, Wertheim and other lifts from the first half of the 20th century, under heritage conservation requirements and keeping the original appearance.

  • Restoration of wood, brass and wrought iron
  • Documentation of the condition as found
  • A modern machine behind the original face

Design and consulting

Installing a lift in a building that has none, assessment of an existing installation, bill of quantities and documentation for a tender or a co-funding application.

  • Site visit and condition survey
  • Concept design and bill of quantities
  • Support with the co-funding application

04 - Emergency service

Everyone writes “24/7”.
Nobody says how long they take to arrive.

The Regulation is very specific: no more than 60 minutes may pass between the rescue call and the arrival of the rescue technician, with continuous contact with the trapped passengers. That is why we run an emergency service, not just a phone line.

Response time Call received
0 minCall 60 minRescue technician on site

That is the longest we are allowed, not an average. For the buildings we maintain in Zagreb we are normally there much sooner. Until we arrive, our duty technician stays in contact with the trapped passengers.

06 - For building managers and co-owners

The law is very specific.
Most quotations are not.

The Croatian Lifts in Service Safety Regulation (NN 5/2019) sets out exactly what the maintenance provider must do, how often and within what deadline. Here is what of that is included in our monthly fee.

1× a month

Maintenance

A lift must be maintained at least once a month. Every visit is entered in the maintenance logbook, with the findings and the work carried out.

NN 5/2019, art. 9
1× a year

Periodic inspection

An authorised body must inspect the lift at least once a year. We prepare the lift, attend the inspection and clear the defects.

60 minutes

Rescue

No more than 60 minutes may pass between the call and the arrival of the rescue technician, with continuous contact with the trapped passengers.

NN 5/2019, art. 11
3 / 5 years

Deadlines for defects

High-priority defects must be cleared within three years, medium-priority within five years or at modernisation. We give you a plan that fits the building reserve fund.

08 - About us

A family sole trader business
that knows where every bolt is.

Servis dizala Perić was founded in 1996 and has done the same thing ever since: maintaining, modernising and bringing lifts back into service in Zagreb and the surrounding area.

Thirty years on the same buildings means we do not read the history of your lift out of a report - we remember it. We know which machine is installed, who has been at it and what will fail next. That is why our quotations have no line called “unforeseen works”.

We also do what the big service companies avoid: narrow shafts, buildings with no machine room, lifts over seventy years old and heritage-protected buildings.

09 - Frequently asked questions

What building managers
ask us first

It depends on the number of floors, the type of machine, the age of the lift and on whether we take over a sound lift or a backlog of defects. That is why we do not publish one price that would be wrong for everybody.

You get a fixed monthly fee per lift, agreed before the work starts - it covers the monthly inspections, 24/7 emergency service, rescue and attendance at the annual periodic inspection. Spare parts and work outside maintenance are approved separately. You get the findings and the price within one working day of the site visit.

Within 60 minutes of the call, as the Regulation requires. Until we arrive, our duty technician keeps contact with the trapped passengers. For the buildings we maintain in Zagreb it is normally much faster.

We carry out rescues without any special approval from the owner - it is a legal duty of the maintenance provider, not an extra service.

Less than you think. We check the notice period in your existing contract, take over the maintenance logbook and the last inspection report, go on site and draw up a handover report. We handle the paperwork.

The owners' meeting only has to pass a decision - we send you the draft ready to use.

Send us the inspection report. We go through it item by item and sort the defects by priority and legal deadline - high priority must be cleared within three years, medium within five years or at modernisation.

You get a plan of works spread over several years so that it fits the building reserve fund, instead of one invoice that wrecks the building's budget.

In the great majority of buildings - modernisation. The shaft, the guide rails and the load-bearing structure are usually sound and last for decades; what wears out is the machine, the controller and the doors. Replacing only those parts brings the lift up to the level of a new one, at a much lower cost and with a shorter shutdown.

We recommend a new lift when the shaft is oversized, when it is not accessible to people with reduced mobility, or when the building is getting a lift for the first time.

You are allowed to and you must - the safety requirements apply to protected buildings too. The only question is how. We work under heritage conservation requirements: we document the condition as found, restore the car, the doors and the fittings, and replace the machine, the controller and everything that carries safety.

The result is a lift that looks like 1928 and rides like 2026.

For a standard residential lift, count on two to three weeks on site, depending on the scope. Most of that is the doors and the shaft - the machine and the controller go quickly.

We plan the shutdown in advance and write it into the contract, together with the notice the residents get on the noticeboard. With a phased approach the lift runs between the phases.

Yes - we are present in nine cities. We do modernisations, overhauls and installations over a wider area, and we take on regular maintenance with 24/7 emergency service where we can meet the arrival deadline.

Send us the address of the building with your enquiry and we will tell you straight away whether we cover your location with a maintenance contract or with works only.

10 - Contact

Tell us what is
happening with the lift.

For a breakdown and for trapped passengers - call. For a quotation, an inspection or a modernisation assessment - send an enquiry.

We reply within one working day. For emergencies, call the emergency service.

Not sure whether your lift is in order?

We come out, look at it and send a written report with the condition and the priorities. No obligation.
